Made for children growing up in India

Familiar faces.
A world made of paper.

Pictures are part of the learning experience. Our class-workbook illustrations bring South Asian children, a paper cut feel and useful teaching figures onto the pages children hold, read and write on.

Children who feel familiar.

Our main illustrations show South Asian children with brown skin, black hair and distinct faces. They read, observe and explore. We want children growing up in India to recognise themselves as curious learners.

India’s children differ in appearance, language and experience. A small set of illustrations can represent only part of that range. We aim to broaden it as the collection grows.

The feel of cut paper.

Flat layers, cut edges and paper texture give the artwork its character. Blue and yellow connect it to our paper-and-bell logo. These are digital illustrations with a paper cut feel.

That visual care is included in the PDF you buy: illustrated covers, repeated artwork and topic figures alongside the practice and adult guidance.

Pictures that explain something.

A map lesson needs a map to read. A cell lesson benefits from a labelled cell. We add relevant figures where they help children observe a detail, follow a process or explain a relationship.

Teaching figures use clear labels, lines and symbols. Schematic drawings say when sizes or positions are approximate. We keep the questions and room to work readable.

How the artwork is made.

Decorative illustrations are developed with AI-assisted image tools, then selected and adapted for Paperchime. Our briefs specify fictional children, our own compositions and the paper cut direction.

Teaching diagrams are drawn separately with fixed labels and geometry. We review them against the lesson and check the rendered pages for clarity. The three activity books have their own adapted activity artwork; their previews show that artwork before purchase.

If a picture or label needs correcting, tell us which book and page. We will review it and supply a corrected file where needed.
